2008 Proclamation

Whereas, the quality of our community life begins within the homes of individual families, this provides a wonderful time to expand the awareness that strong families make strong communities; and

Whereas, Polk County Family Week has been organized through partnership among private citizens, corporations, non profit agencies and government entities have collaborated to create Polk County Family Week; and

Whereas, everyone has a role to play in building successful families, including neighborhood organizations, businesses, nonprofit agencies, policymakers, schools, and families themselves; and

Whereas, families are indispensable to a stable and free society. They pass along the traditions and principles that help make America compassionate, decent, and hopeful.

Now, therefore, we, _______________________________, do hereby urge all families to take this time to unite, honor and celebrate, and do hereby proclaim November 16-22, 2008 as

Polk County Family Week
