Essay Contest due date is October 1, 2010,
Art Contest winners are due October 18, 2010.

STUDENT ESSAY CONTEST
Theme: Why I Love My Family

Students are invited to submit essays through their school:

  • K-2nd grade - Maximum 75 words
  • 3rd-5th grades - Maximum 150 words
  • 6th-8th grades - Maximum 300 words

Schools are requested to:

  • Select 1st place winner in each category (K-2, 3-5, 6-8)
  • Video tape winning essay in each category read by the author
  • Submit winning essays, dvd, and entry form by October 1, 2010 to:

Essay Entry Forms

The due date for both the Essay contests is October 1, 2010. Please read through the entry forms for the details:

STUDENT ART CONTEST
Theme: Why I Love My Family

Students are invited to submit artwork through their school:

  • Open to all Polk County public, private, and Home School children
  • Age Groups: K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th
  • Maximum size: artwork 12” x 18” with mat/frame 15” x 20” (optional)
  • Any art medium, including photography (no 3-D art, please)

Teachers/Schools are requested to:

  • Select one school-wide winner from each category (K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th)
  • Attach name, grade, teacher, and school on back of artwork
  • Submit winning entries by October 18, 2010 to:
